Sometimes it's the unpaid work that makes the biggest impact. All that remains is customizing and adding keywords, simplifying the application process.

Side Gig

While you are in school, I recommend starting a side business. Making money this way allows you to avoid trailing job applications. You will also be able to make your own schedule around classes and social events. Experiences like this are wonderful to discuss in interviews. Running your own small business will give you insight into what it's like for others in a similar position further down the road than you are.
